Onayena
Onayena is a settlement and district seat of the constituency of the same name in the Oshikoto region in the north of Namibia . The majority of the population in the constituency Onayena belongs to the Oshivambo and forms a cultural and economic unit with the nearby places Olukonda , seat of the kings of the Ondonga , and Oniipa , seat of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia .
Max Nekongo (SWAPO) was confirmed as regional councilor by an overwhelming majority in the 2010 regional council elections.

The rural constituency is part of the north Namibian Oshana system , a network of low-gradient, shallow drainage channels and valleys running in a north-south direction. The county is bordered to the east by the constituency Onyaanya , to the south Omuntele Constituency and to the west by the constituencies Okankolo and Olukonda . In the north, Onayena borders on the constituency of Eenhana, which belongs to the Ohangwena region .
Onayena is relatively the largest settlement in the county; other settlements and villages are Elombe, Esheshete, Omandongo, Onakandi, Onakiidhi, Onathinge, and Oniihwa.
Economy and Transport
The B1 national road and the Tsumeb – Oshikango railway cross the constituency in an east-west direction, with the nearest train stations in Omuthiya and Ondangwa . The Onayena settlement is located around twenty kilometers east of the city of Ondangwa and around three kilometers north of the B1 on a moderately maintained gravel road ( D-road ).
The dominant industries in Onayena are agriculture and livestock . Onayena owns a health center ; There are also isolated retail stores for through traffic, especially along the B1.
