Ondangwa (formerly Ondangua ) is a district town in the Oshana region in the north of Namibia (historically Ovamboland ). The city has 21,100 inhabitants.
Ondangwa, together with Oshakati and Ongwediva, forms the third largest urban agglomeration in Namibia (after Windhoek and Rundu ). In addition to hotels , banks, as well as school and medical facilities, the place also has a police station , an airport and a train station. To the east of the city are the religious centers of Olukonda and Oniipa .
Ondangwa is an urban constituency as Ondangwa City and is surrounded by the rural constituency of Ondangwa .
climate
Ondangwa has a semi-arid climate (steppe climate BSh, according to the climate classification by Köppen and Geiger ), with hot summers and relatively mild winters (warm days and cold nights). The average annual rainfall is around 450 mm; the main precipitation occurs in summer.
