Lempäälä [ ˈlɛmpæːlæ ] is a Finnish municipality located about 20 km from Tampere , near the Lempäälä Canal and the Kuokkala Rapids. The center is on an island in Lake Kirkkojärvi . Sights are the Church of St. Brigitta from the beginning of the 16th century and the Lampäälä Canal (around 2 km long).

Ideapark

One of the largest shopping centers in Scandinavia, the Ideapark, is located in Lempäälä (open since December 1st, 2006) . It contains around 200 shops, an ice rink, an independent cultural center for children, a dog park, and many restaurants.
