Vesilahti [ ˈʋesiˌlɑxti ] is a municipality in western Finland with 4,393 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2018). It is located in the Pirkanmaa countryside , about 30 kilometers from the city of Tampere . The cities of Nokia and Lempäälä are also near the city of Vesilahti. The population of Vesilahti is increasing as most of the people living in Vesilahti work in Tampere. 14.5 percent of Vesilahti's area consists of water.
Vesilahti has been a twin town of the German city of St. Georgen in the Black Forest since 2002 .
