particularities
The One Boston Place has a steel frame which is arranged around a brick core. There are 18 passenger elevators and one for cargo, which was last renovated in 2005. The lobby walls consist of a system of planar glass tiles. The outer frame, made up of diagonal struts, is characteristic of the style of high-tech architecture .
In October 2007 the building was recognized in the EPA Energy Star program. In November 2008, it became the first building in the world to receive a gold award from the US Green Building Council for buildings that have already been completed. It was classified as particularly environmentally friendly due to its highly reflective white roof, the use of natural vegetation on the forecourt and the strict requirements for air quality inside the building.
