The Two International Place building is a skyscraper in the Financial District of Boston in the state of Massachusetts in the United States . Completed in 1992, it is the ninth tallest building in the city at 538  ft (163.98  m ) high and 35 stories . The skyscraper stands in what was formerly known as Fort Hill and is just blocks from Boston's North End , the coast, Boston South Station , Downtown Crossing, and the Federal Courthouse .

Exterior

The building consists of a 35-story tower and a 13-story extension. It is part of a complex of five buildings that are surrounded by two towers. The panels of the facade are made of unpolished rose granite , the window openings are framed with aluminum . The windows are divided into three parts, but their lunettes are only painted on. The crown of the building consists of an octagonal pyramid surrounded by a ring protruding from the roof. The top is illuminated when it gets dark.

In the center of the building complex there is a fountain and a 2,323 m² area with shops and restaurants that connects all buildings. The materials used here include imported marble from Spain , Italy and Africa . The guarded underground car park under the building complex offers more than 800 parking spaces.
