One Day Remains is the debut album by the American rock band Alter Bridge .

History of origin

At the beginning of 2004 the band Creed broke up because of a conflict between singer Scott Stapp and the instrumentalists. Then Mark Tremonti (guitar), Brian Marshall (bass) and Scott Phillips (drums) teamed up with Myles Kennedy , who had previously been singer on The Mayfield Four . Together they founded the band Alter Bridge and shortly afterwards signed a contract with Wind-Up Records , where Creed was also under contract. One Day Remains was released on August 10, 2004 and was awarded gold in the USA a little later. In total, the album has sold an estimated 750,000 times to date (as of 2008). As singles were Open Your Eyes , Find the Real and Broken Wings decoupled. There were also music videos for all singles except Find the Real .

• The song Metalingus was the entrance theme of former WWE Superstar Edge .
• In Loving Memory is a memory of Tremonti's late mother.

reception

Rock Hard's Buffo Schnädelbach said that Myles Kennedy's vocals and "organic classic rock" complement each other in an eerie way. With songs like "Down to My Last" or "Shed My Skin" the band would touch the listener deeply. He awarded 9.5 out of ten points. Peter Kubaschk from Powermetal.de wrote in his review that one highlight would chase the next on the album. He also said that One Day Remains was a young alternative rock classic for him and awarded 9.5 out of ten points.
