history
Richard Wenzel laid the foundation stone for today's company in 1886 with a distillation and fruit press . Wenzel opened the Café Wartburg. The company expanded over the next 30 years. In 1915 the company EL Kempe & Co. AG was founded, whose products enjoyed a worldwide reputation in the 1930s. The Café Wartburg and the company were sold to Kempe and Kempe EL Kempe & Co., limited partnership Oppach O./L. originated. The company and the café were expanded, including an in-house kindergarten.
In 1948 the company became publicly owned by “ Weinbrand Wilthen ” (now Hardenberg-Wilthen ) and became part of the “ Lausitzer Fruchtverarbeitung Sohland ”. In 1953, production was switched to non-alcoholic, carbonated drinks. The main products at that time were "grapefruit pearl" and "orange pearl", which were well known in the GDR .
In 1991 the Odenwaldquelle Heppenheim took over the company. The Oppacher Mineralquellen GmbH & Co KG was founded. In 1993 a new bottling plant was put into operation in the " Wassergrund " industrial park in Oppach . The original operation, near the cemetery between Kastanienallee and August-Bebel-Straße, was demolished and the site redesigned. At this point there is now a supermarket, among other things. The Oppacher mineral springs were expanded again and again and subsequently invested in a PET bottle- compatible system. As a result, the former family business developed into a European well company, which went to the regional market in 1998 with the new manager Eric Schäffer.
The Actris AG , which also includes the Freiberger Brauhaus AG belongs, took over in 2000 the mineral water operation. In 2004 the company received the "Dresden Marketing Prize" for its marketing services and the "Oberlausitzer Unternehmenspreis" for its economic commitment in the region.
In the Oberlausitz Oppacher quickly became known and received in 2005 the title of "Ambassador of the Oberlausitz". At the beginning of 2007, Oppacher Mineralquellen was separated from Actris AG . Eric Schäffer is the managing director.
Marketing and Sales
A tram of the Dresden public transport company was pasted as an advertising space for the Oppach mineral springs. Since 2019 it has been traveling on various lines in the city of Dresden .
The company's products are offered in Saxony, southern Brandenburg and parts of Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt.

Fountain
The company has eleven wells around Oppach, from which the spring water is obtained. The depth of the wells ranges from 200 to 300 meters. You are in the nature reserve of the Oberlausitzer Bergland. It is shaped by the foothills of the Eger valley volcanism - the largest continuous granite block in Europe. New sources are regularly explored.
