Oppenheim is a city in the US state of New York and is located in Fulton County . It is located on the western border of the country and had 1924 inhabitants at the time of the last census (2010).
history
The city was founded in 1791. Oppenheim was founded in 1808 from Palatine , Montgomery County , before Fulton Counties was formed.

The northern part of the city is in Adirondack Park . The western part of the city forms the border with Herkimer County and the south city borders with Montgomery County.
According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 146.2 km². 145.7 km²; of which are land, 0.5 km² are water. Water takes up 0.32% of the total area.
Demographics
The 2000 census names 1774 citizens, 685 households and 493 families living in the city. The population density is 12.2 / km². There are 858 residential wings with an average area of 5.9 / km². The city is 98.31% White, 0.73% African American , 0.17% Native American , 0.23% Asian , 0.56% Other. 0.68% of the population are Spaniards or Americans of Latin American origin.
