The Orthe is a river in France that runs in the Pays de la Loire region . It rises in the municipality of Izé , drains generally in a north-easterly direction through a sparsely populated area, crosses a branch of the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park and flows into the Sarthe after 35 kilometers in the municipality of Douillet as a right tributary . On its way, the Orthe passes the Mayenne and Sarthe departments .
