Osório Willibaldo Stoffel

Osório Willibaldo Stoffel OFM (born July 7, 1921 in Luzerna ; † May 10, 2002 ) was a Brazilian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Rondonópolis .

Life

Osório Willibaldo Stoffel joined the Franciscan Order and was ordained a priest on July 26, 1948 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on November 27, 1970 prelate of Rondonópolis and on August 6, 1971 titular bishop of Ceramus . The coadjutor bishop von Lages , Honorato Piazera SCI , donated him episcopal ordination on October 10 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Carlos Schmitt OFM, Auxiliary Bishop in Lages, and Theodard Leitz OFM, Bishop of Dourados .

On May 26, 1978 he renounced his titular bishopric as part of the new allocation guidelines of the Roman Curia . The Pope raised the territorial prelature to a diocese on February 15, 1986 and appointed him the first bishop of Rondonópolis. On November 19, 1997, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
