Honorato Piazera

Honorato Piazera SCI (born November 16, 1911 in Jaraguá do Sul , Santa Catarina , Brazil ; † October 23, 1990 ) was a Brazilian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Lages .

Life

Honorato Piazera joined the religious community of Dehonians and received the sacrament of priestly ordination on November 30, 1936 .

On July 11, 1959, Pope John XXIII appointed him . as titular bishop of Termessus and auxiliary bishop in Rio de Janeiro . The Archbishop of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro, Cardinal Jaime de Barros Câmara , donated him episcopal ordination on October 11 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Joinville , Gregório Warmeling , and the auxiliary bishop in Rio de Janeiro, Wilson Laus Schmidt .

On December 14, 1961, John XXIII appointed him. to the Bishop of Nova Iguaçu . Pope Paul VI appointed him on February 12, 1966 titular bishop of Castellum Iabar and coadjutor bishop of Lages. On November 17, 1973 Honorato Piazera was appointed host of the OFM Bishop of Lages, succeeding the late Daniel Henrique .

On February 18, 1987, Pope John Paul II accepted Piazera's request to resign on grounds of age.

Honorato Piazera attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
