Osaro Jürgen Rich Igbineweka (born July 22, 1998 in Lübeck ) is a German basketball player of Nigerian  descent. He has been part of the first division club Hamburg Towers since summer 2017 .

Player career

Rich grew up in Lübeck  , where he first played basketball ( Lübecker TS ) and football ( Lübeck Cougars ). Ultimately, he decided to focus on his basketball career. In the 2013/14 season he was also entitled to play for BG Suchsdorf-Kronshagen in the youth basketball league (JBBL) with a “double license” and scored an average of 22.1 points per match for the team over the course of the season.

In 2014, Rich, whose middle name Jürgen was given by his father based on Jürgen Klinsmann , joined Piraten Hamburg, the youth department of Hamburg Towers , and played first in the JBBL, then also in the NBBL ( youth basketball league ) for the Pirates.

In the 2015/16 game round, in addition to his assignments for the Hamburg team, he also gained experience in the men's area, for TuS Lübeck in the 2nd regional league.

In the run-up to the 2016/17 season, Rich secured a place in the squad of SC Rist Wedel  ( 2nd Bundesliga ProB ) and was also a top performer at Piraten Hamburg in the NBBL.

In the summer of 2017 he was accepted into the Hamburg Towers squad ( 2nd Bundesliga ProA ) and retained his second game right for Rist Wedel, a cooperation club of the Towers.

He won the championship title of the 2nd Bundesliga ProA with the Towers in the 2018/19 season and made it to the basketball Bundesliga . He contributed an average of 1.5 points in 14 appearances during the title season. In addition, he played 23 games for Rist Wedel in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB in the 2018/19 season , where he achieved averages of 12.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per match. At the end of July 2019, he extended his contract with the Towers for two years.

National team

In 2019 he was appointed to the German U23 national team in the basketball game "3-on-3" .
