The international law firm Osborne Clarke was founded by Jeremiah Osborne in Bristol in 1748 , making it one of the oldest and most traditional law firms in Europe. From 1987 further offices were added, first in London , later in the United States and Germany .

The law firm employs around 1,500 people worldwide. More than 700 of them advise lawyers and tax advisors from 25 offices in Europe , Asia and the USA . Around 150 lawyers and tax consultants from the offices in Berlin , Hamburg , Cologne and Munich and over 100 other employees work in Germany.

Locations

In addition to the founding office in Bristol, there was a second office in London in 1987 and a third in Reading in 1998 . In 2000 the firm established an office in Silicon Valley , United States. Further locations are in Belgium ( Brussels ), the Netherlands ( Amsterdam ), Spain ( Barcelona , Madrid ), Italy ( Brescia , Busto Arsizio , Milan , Padua , Rome ), France ( Paris ), and the USA ( New York , San Francisco ), China ( Shanghai ), Sweden ( Stockholm ) and Singapore.

The law firm has been active in Germany since 1994. First an office was founded in Frankfurt , which existed until 2003. Offices in Cologne and Munich followed , which were opened in 2001 and 2005. A third German office was opened in Hamburg in October 2012, and a fourth in Berlin in 2013 .

Osborne Clarke has had a new international management structure since the beginning of July 2012. German, British, Spanish and Italian partners will sit in the two new bodies, International Board and International Council . The second International Council is intended to function as a supervisory board through the International Board .
