Oscar Andriani (born December 28, 1905 in Brescia , † July 17, 1987 in Rome ) was an Italian actor .

Life

Andriani discovered his passion for acting at an early age and in 1921 belonged to the ensemble around Amedeo Chiantoni ; he also played youthful heroes alongside Annibale Ninchi , Wanda Capodaglio , Emma Gramatica and Corrado Racca . Despite numerous roles, however, he never managed to get into the front row of the actors, despite impressive performances such as in Oreste in 1934 . From 1937 he was also seen in numerous films; here, too, it remained with character roles.

Andriani wrote a few comedies under a pseudonym, which were performed by director Carlo Veneziani as well as by the ensembles around Giovanni Grasso , Tino Scotti and Nino Pavese . He also worked as an author for the radio. In 1939 an important film role followed, that of the Dominican Father Reginaldo Giuliani , who died in the Abyssinian War and heroized by fascism , in Goffredo Alessandrini's Abuna Messiah . A few small film roles followed his friend Amedeo Nazzari until 1943, until Andriani took a seven-year break from film in 1943. This was followed by intensive years with other small roles and the template for a script from the world of film and theater, the illusions and intrigues associated with it, which was filmed in 1959 by Luigi Capuano , Il mondo dei miracoli . It was not the success we had hoped for. He played his last role in a TV episode of Nero Wolfe in 1969.
