Oscar von Elsner.

Oscar Benno Ferdinand von Elsner (born July 17, 1822 in Pilgramsdorf , † May 21, 1881 in Arlesheim ( Canton Basel-Landschaft )) was a German politician.

His parents were the district administrator Sylvius Ernst Karl Joachim (* July 31, 1783; † November 1, 1851) and his wife Friederike Charlotte Ottilie von Debschitz (* September 25, 1793; † May 20, 1869). Major General Ferdinand Friedrich Joachim von Elsner was his grandfather.

Life

Oscar von Elsner attended grammar school in Lauban and studied law in Breslau and Berlin . From 1851 to 1854 he was district administrator of the Ratibor district . In 1854 he moved to the Prussian Ministry of the Interior in Berlin. From 1855 he was Minister of State of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen , was dismissed in 1862 and since then has lived on his estate in Nieder Adelsdorf in the Goldberg-Haynau district in Silesia, and from 1872 in Switzerland.

From 1852 to 1855 and from 1863 to 1866 Oscar von Elsner was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . From 1856 to 1859 he was a member of the state parliament of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen . In 1869 he was elected to the Reichstag of the North German Confederation in a replacement election in the constituency of Liegnitz 6 ( Liegnitz , Goldberg-Haynau ) , which also made him a member of the Customs Parliament . He belonged to the Free Conservative Party .
