Osceola is located in northwest Wisconsin, on the St. Croix River . This forms the border between Wisconsin and Minnesota and flows into the Mississippi around 70 km south of Osceola .

In the center of the Wisconsin State Highway 243 branches off in a westerly direction and crosses the St. Croix River over a bridge in the direction of Minnesota. A Canadian National Railway (CN) line runs through Osceola and only transports freight.
