Osieczna ( German stork nest ) is a town in the powiat Leszczyński of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of the town-and-country municipality of the same name with 9229 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2019).
Geographical location
The city is located between two large ponds and hills ten kilometers northeast of the city of Leszno (Lissa) and about twenty kilometers south of the city of Kościan (expense) .
history
The village emerged as a settlement below a castle, which is said to have once been a robber barons nest and was later shot to death at an unknown time.

The town itself and 17 villages with school administration offices belong to the town and country community (gmina miejsko-wiejska) Osieczna.

- Tassilo von Heydebrand und der Lasa (1818–1899), German diplomat and chess player. His family inherited Storchnest Castle around 1850. Tassilo von Heydebrand and the Lasa spent the last months of his life there.
