Oskar von Hasselbach

Friedrich Oskar von Hasselbach (born April 3, 1846 in Minden , † January 7, 1903 in Wolmirstedt ) was a German administrative lawyer. From 1884 to 1887 he sat in the German Reichstag .

Life

Hasselbach was the son of the Mayor of Magdeburg, Gustav Hasselbach . From 1855 to 1863 he attended the cathedral high school in Magdeburg , then until 1867 the monastery school Roßleben . In 1867/68 he served as a one-year volunteer . At the same time he was active in the Corps Saxonia Göttingen from Easter 1867 to Michaelis 1868 . He then studied political science and law from 1868 to 1872 at the Georg-August University of Göttingen and the Royal University of Greifswald . He took part in the Franco-Prussian War and received the Iron Cross 2nd class . In 1872 he was a trainee lawyer at the district courts in Greifswald and Halberstadt . Appointed court assessor after the state examination in 1877 , he switched from the administration of justice to the administration of Prussia.

First he was an assistant judge at the Staßfurt district court and from 1877 to 1878 a government assessor at the Landdrostei Aurich . In 1878 he became district administrator of the Neidenburg district . There he owned the Tautschken manor (1080 ha). From 1882 to 1903 he was district administrator for the Wolmirstedt district . He was also district director of the Land-Feuer-Societät Magdeburg, dyke captain of the Magdeburg-Rothensee-Wolmirstedter dyke association and chairman of the warrior association in the Magdeburg administrative region. In 1900 he was appointed a secret councilor.

For the German Conservative Party , he represented the constituency administrative district Magdeburg 5 ( Neuhaldensleben / Wolmirstedt ) in the Reichstag from 1884 to 1887 . Between 1887 and 1899 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . He resigned this mandate because the canal rebels of his parliamentary group rejected the proposal to build the Mittelland Canal .

He was married to Josephine geb. Schilke .
