After Valta achieved two good FIS Cup results in Szczyrk in August 2011 , he was accepted into the B national team in the Continental Cup for the 2011/12 season. He clearly missed this as 55th. After a break from competition until February, he returned to the Continental Cup in Planica , but was again without any points. Previously, he had finished eighth at the 2013 Finnish Ski Jumping Championships in January .

After he narrowly failed to qualify as 32nd in the individual qualification at the Ski Flying World Cup in Oberstdorf , he started team flying with the team on February 15, 2013 and reached eighth place. At the Continental Cups in Liberec at the end of the season, he ended up outside of the points.
