Eastern Alliance
The Eastern Alliance is an amalgamation of 13 municipalities from the eastern district of Erding (Upper Bavaria) and the western district of Mühldorf . In 1997 they formed an alliance with a view to the changes brought about by Munich Airport .
The website says: “The aim of the alliance is to represent interests together and to promote inter-municipal cooperation. In order to put the joint development ideas into concrete terms, a sub-spatial report funded by the Bavarian State Ministry for Regional Development and Environmental Issues was drawn up for the alliance area. The result is the development model and concept as well as an action plan with 14 key projects. "
The affected area covers an area of 500 km² with 50,000 inhabitants in 1000 districts in the following communities: Bockhorn , Buchbach , Dorfen , Fraunberg , Hohenpolding , Inning am Holz , Isen , Kirchberg , Lengdorf , Sankt Wolfgang , Schwindegg , Steinkirchen and Taufkirchen (Vils) .
