In 2019, Ruben Dario Molina , Venezuela's Deputy Foreign Minister, visited the East Timorese capital of Dili at the end of August on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the independence referendum in East Timor and was received by Foreign Minister Dionísio Babo . At the beginning of December, Ambassador Jorge Camões , Secretary General of the East Timorese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received Molina a second time to discuss bilateral relations.
