Oswald Semlits (born June 7, 1958 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ) is a former German soccer player and current coach .

Life

"Ossi", as he was called, was born in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, moved to Germany at the age of six and grew up in Brambauer . He completed his high school education in Brünninghausen and then began a business administration studies with a focus on marketing. He played in the youth of BV Brambauer .

In Hennef he received his A-trainer license under Erich Rutemöller . Semlits is married to his wife Sabine and has two daughters and his son Philip, who plays for SC Verl . Semlits lives in Gremmendorf and works for the Axel Springer publishing house .

Player career

Semlits began his professional career with the then association league club, BV Brambauer . In 1979 he moved to Preußen Münster in the 2nd Bundesliga . Here he played 64 games and scored four goals. Then the defender moved to SC Viktoria Köln , where he stayed from 1981 to 1982. His next club was the TuS Schloß Neuhaus , which he left after 37 games and a goal in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund .

But after only four games in which he was able to score one goal, Oswald Semlits left the club and went to SC Verl . After one season, his new club was called MSV Duisburg . He stayed here for five years and was relegated to the Oberliga Nordrhein in his first season . The return to the 2nd division succeeded in the 1988/89 season .

After another season in the 2nd Bundesliga, Semlits left the club and went to VfL Osnabrück , where he had to end his career after 35 games and three goals due to health problems.

Coaching career

In March 2004 it was announced that Oswald Semlits will be coach of Lüner SV for the 2004/05 season , after having previously coached SC Wiedenbrück for over six years and leading them from the district to the association league . Despite a two-year contract, he left the club “completely surprisingly” in April 2005 for Hammer SpVg , where he was dismissed on November 7, 2005 due to sporting failures.

On March 14th, 2008 he took over TuS Freckenhorst . Semlits was released on February 17, 2009. For the 2010/11 season he was introduced as the coach of SV Black and White Havixbeck . In his first year he was promoted to the district league. In mid-December 2013, Semlits was released due to sporting failure.
