Oswald Zoeggeler
Oswald Zoeggeler , also Oswald Zöggeler (* 1944 in Meran ) is an Italian architect .
Live and act
Oswald Zoeggeler studied 1963–1965 at the Technical University of Vienna and from 1965–1968 at the Venice School of Architecture ; he wrote his doctoral thesis in 1969 together with Carlo Scarpa . He also completed various architecture internships between 1969 and 1973 - in London with James Stirling , James Cubitt, Denys Lasdun and with Wilhelm Holzbauer in Amsterdam .
In 1974 he founded an architecture office in Merano together with Willy Gutweniger and G. Piarulli. After working as an assistant to architects such as Carlo Scarpa , Gino Valle, Luciano Semerani and at the Venice School of Architecture from 1974 to 1986 , he founded his own architectural office in Bolzano in 1975 .
In 1981 he was a visiting professor at the Technical University of Munich and since 1987 a full professor at the University of Florence , as well as a visiting professor at the Technical University of Innsbruck from 1989 to 1994 . In the period from 1998 to 2000 he was a member of the “Urban Design Advisory Board” in Linz . He was also professor at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Trieste from 2002 to 2004 .
In 1992 Zoeggeler published the book “Architecture for an Italian Bolzano 1922–1945” together with the architect Lamberto Ippolito. The publication documented the building activity and architectural work during the fascist reign in Bolzano in a comprehensive way, but at the same time completely ignored the political and imperial-historical dimensions of totalitarian architecture due to "naive reference to the evident aesthetic quality of the buildings of the Ventennio".
His office's projects include public and private buildings, residential complexes, commercial and industrial buildings , old building renovations and energy- efficient renovations, as well as energy-efficient buildings and sustainable architecture.
