Career

Club

Ottó Onodi began his career in the youth department of HSC Csíkszereda from his hometown Miercurea Ciuc , where he first played in the Hungarian U18 league. In 2011 he moved to the Hungarian capital Budapest, where he played for the Ferencvárosi TC mainly in the Hungarian U18 and U20 leagues. However, at the age of only 17, he was used once in the Hungarian ice hockey league and the multinational MOL league . After a year he returned to his home club and, in addition to appearances in the Hungarian and Romanian U18 leagues, he also played for the first time in the Romanian league . In the 2013/14 season he came - now for Csíkszereda - to his second MOL league, but moved towards the end of the season to CSM Dunărea Galați , with whom he was Romanian champion for the first time in 2015 . He then returned to HSC Csíkszereda, with whom he celebrated the double of championship and cup victory in 2018 . In the 2016/17 season he achieved the best catch quota and the lowest goals against goals in the Romanian league.

International

For Romania, Onodi took part in Division II of the U18 World Championships in 2011 and 2012 and the U20 World Championship in 2013 in the junior division .

He made his debut in the men's national team at the Division II games of the 2015 World Cup , when he had the lowest goals against goals and the third-best catch rate of all goalkeepers in the tournament, thus making a significant contribution to the Romanians' promotion to Division I. He also played in Division II at the 2017 World Cup , when he was promoted again. In contrast, he was in the Romanians' box in Division I in 2016 , but could not avoid relegation.
