Ottenheim is a district of the community of Weilerswist in the district of Euskirchen , North Rhine-Westphalia and, together with Hausweiler , Derkum and Schneppenheim, forms the statistical locality of Hausweiler-Derkum with 1,703 inhabitants.

The place is at the southern end of the municipality on the state road 194 (formerly B 51 ) between Weilerswist and Euskirchen . The Euskirchen industrial area IPAS borders the town in the south and the Erft flows in the west . To the north lies the Derkum district .
history
Ottenheim was first mentioned in a document in 856. The first known village lords were the Counts of Limburg around 1128 . In 1430 the place belonged to the Duchy of Burgundy . After the Spanish period (1525-1712) Ottenheim was also occupied by French troops in 1794. When a new administration was created under French rule in 1798/1800, Ottenheim belonged to the Mairie Lommersum in the canton of Lechenich . After belonging to the province of Jülich-Kleve-Berg from 1816, the place came to the Rhine province in 1822 . In 1886 the office of Weilerswist-Lommersum with Ottenheim was established. The village has belonged to North Rhine-Westphalia since the country was established in 1946. July 1, 1969 Ottensheim was in the community Weilerswist incorporated .
