Otto Altenburg
Otto Altenburg (born August 5, 1873 in Scholwin near Stettin , † December 17, 1950 in Greifswald ) was a German historian and high school professor.
Life
Otto Paul Erich Altenburg was the son of the main teacher Carl Altenburg, attended the König-Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Stettin and then studied from 1893 in Halle , Göttingen and Greifswald . In 1894 he became active in the Göttingen Wingolf . From 1900 Altenburg taught at the Marienstiftsgymnasium in Stettin, one year later at the Royal Pedagogy in Putbus . Then he went to the city high school in Stettin, where he was appointed high school professor in 1914.
Altenburg was a member of the Society for Pomeranian History and Archeology ; from 1930 to 1933 he was its chairman. He published a large number of articles on regional history in magazines and newspapers.
