Otto Heinrich Pachmair

Otto Heinrich Pachmair (* before 1606 in Munich ; † September 27, 1634, presumably in Regensburg ) was a Catholic clergyman , bishop of Almira and auxiliary bishop in Regensburg .

Life

Born in Munich, Pachmair (Bachmair) graduated from the Jesuit High School in Munich in 1598 (today: Wilhelmsgymnasium Munich ). In 1606 he became pastor and archdechant in Donaustauf and in 1612 in Ingolstadt he received his doctorate in theology. On July 28, 1622 he was appointed Bishop of Almira ( Thebes ) in Phthiotis , Metropolitan District Larisa in Thessaly , and Auxiliary Bishop in Regensburg . In 1627 he became canon of the collegiate monastery for the old chapel in Regensburg. He died in 1634 and was buried in Regensburg Cathedral .

After Pachmair's death, the office of auxiliary bishop initially remained vacant in view of the imminent bankruptcy of the Regensburg monastery and was not re-occupied until 1650 with Sebastian Denich .
