Otto Maigler (born March 8, 1893 in Hoboken , New Jersey , United States , † June 20, 1967 in Cologne ) was a mining engineer and later entrepreneur.

Origin and education

Otto Maigler probably grew up in a German family who lived in the North American city of Hoboken at the time of his birth. However, the length of this stage of life is not known. But he finished his school education in what was then the Kingdom of Württemberg , before the outbreak of the First World War . After this and subsequent studies at the Bergakademie Berlin and Freiberg , Maigler completed his specialist training as a qualified mining engineer and graduate Markscheider .

Maigler's company expanded until the late 1950s, and various lignite companies now belonged to it. In 1960, the parent company Roddergrube AG went with his mining claims then as part of a merger with the Rhenish lignite mining works (RAG) in the Rheinbraun based in Cologne on. After this conversion, Otto Maigler became a member of the Supervisory Board. Since 1956 he was chairman of the Rheinische Braunkohlenbrikett -verkauf GmbH . In 1963, now 70 years old, he retired.
