Otto Menth

Otto Menth (born July 1, 1924 in Rittershausen ; † January 31, 1979 in Gaukönigshofen ) was a German farmer and politician ( CSU ).

Life and work

Menth was born the son of a farmer. After attending elementary school, he completed an agricultural apprenticeship in his parents' business, then did an internship in Lower Bavaria and continued his education at the agricultural schools in Würzburg and Bad Neustadt an der Saale in 1942/43 . In 1946 he took over his parents' business in Rittershausen. From 1969 to 1979 he was President of the Bavarian Farmers' Association (BBV) for the Lower Franconia district .

Menth was elected to the district council of the Ochsenfurt district in 1952. From 1969 to 1979 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate for the Agriculture and Forestry Group . He was a member of the German Bundestag from September 19, 1972, when he replaced Georg Ehnes , who had resigned , until the end of the 1972 electoral term. He entered parliament through the Bavarian State List .
