Otto Wachs (District Administrator)

Otto Wachs (born June 16, 1874 in Hanerau , † March 23, 1941 in Lutherstadt Wittenberg ) was a German administrative officer.

Life

Otto Wachs was the son of the landowner and member of the Reichstag, Hans Heinrich Wachs . He studied law at the Philipps University of Marburg , the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the Friedrich Wilhelms University of Berlin . In Marburg he became a member of the Corps Hasso-Nassovia in 1893 . In 1894 he joined the Corps Suevia Freiburg . In 1896 he was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD. In the same year he began his legal clerkship. In 1898 he began the government traineeship. Since 1901 he was a government assessor, and in 1905 he became an assistant civil servant on Heligoland .

From 1907 to 1911 he was district administrator for the Jork district . In 1911 he moved to the district of Süderdithmarschen as district administrator , where he was district administrator until 1919. From 1921 to 1938, Wachs was a member of the district committee and the district administrative court in Schleswig . From 1922 to 1937 he was a member of the board of directors of the Landesbank of Schleswig-Holstein . After 1937 he lived in retirement in Kitzeberg near Kiel . Since 1906 he was married to Irmgard Nieper from Goslar, with whom he had two daughters and two sons. His son was the banker and 1936 Olympian Otto Wachs .
