Otto Wilhelm von Bronckhorst zu Gronsfeld SJ (born June 12, 1640 in Cologne ; † April 5, 1713 ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman, auxiliary bishop in Osnabrück and Münster and apostolic vicar of the north .

Live and act

Otto Wilhelm von Bronckhorst zu Gronsfeld was born in Cologne as the second eldest son of Count Jost Maximilian von Bronckhorst-Gronsfeld and his wife, Anna Christina von Hardenrath , entered the Jesuit order, made his profession on August 27, 1662 and received it in 1671 Ordination . A few years later he left the Jesuit order and was incardinated on November 7, 1676 in the Archdiocese of Cologne .

On January 2, 1693, Pope Innocent XII appointed Bronckhorst as titular bishop of Columbica and auxiliary bishop in Osnabrück. On April 24, 1693 he received the episcopal ordination . Until 1699 he worked as an auxiliary bishop in the diocese of Muenster, where in 1698 he the Observantenkirche consecrated, 1694 in Emsland the Confirmation donated and in 1698 the elected abbot of Liesborn , Gregor Walt man from Lüdinghausen , the blessing granted. Pope Clement XI. called Bronckhorst on October 13, 1702 to the Apostolic Vicar of the North.
