Otto Ziebill

Otto Ziebill (born November 7, 1896 in Hamburg , † December 27, 1978 in Karlsruhe ) was a German lawyer and politician ( SPD ).

Life

After graduation and participation in the First World War Ziebill took up a study law and political science at the University of Konigsberg in which he awarded the degree of Dr. jur. finished. He entered the administrative service of the city ​​of Königsberg and was appointed magistrate there in 1923. From 1925 he worked as a lawyer. During the Nazi era, he was involved in a resistance group.

After the Second World War, Ziebill embarked on a career as a judge, was initially appointed to the higher regional court advisor and later was president of the appeals chamber of the regional court in Nuremberg-Fürth . In addition to his job, he had joined the SPD and served as Lord Mayor of Nuremberg from 1948 to 1951 . From 1951 to 1964 he was the general manager of the German Association of Cities , of which he was a member of the executive committee from 1951 to 1963.
