Otto Zinke (born  February 25, 1908 in Hanover ; †  1999 ) was a German university professor for high frequency technology .

Life

After attending the humanistic grammar school in Berlin-Steglitz , he studied telecommunications technology at what was then the Technical University (TH), now the Technical University (TU), in Berlin-Charlottenburg . In 1936 he became a Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) Doctorate and in 1940 habilitation he did at the Institute of electrical vibration theory and high-frequency technology with a signature on "Fundamentals of current and voltage distribution on antennas". After he had initially become a lecturer in high-frequency measurement technology and high-frequency technology there on December 23, 1940 , on February 1, 1942, he became an associate professor for the fields mentioned. From 1942 he was also a professor and department head of the Institute for Vibration Research (previously Heinrich Hertz Institute and today Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications ) in the field of high frequency and tube technology .

After the war he went to Paris for two years from 1948 to 1950 to the Center national d'études des télécommunications ( German  "National Center for Telecommunications Studies" ) and then, from 1951 to 1955, to the central laboratory of Siemens & Halske in Munich . From August 1, 1954, he was an associate professor for high-frequency measurement technology at the chair for high-frequency technology at the Technical University of Berlin, before becoming a full professor at the Technical University of Darmstadt (now the Technical University ) in 1955 . He remained so until his retirement in 1973. Even after that, he remained closely associated with high-frequency measurement technology.
