Location and economy
The two villages are located immediately east of Krimpen aan den IJssel on the south bank of the Hollandsche IJssel , opposite Moordrecht and Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel . The Rotterdam - Gouda bus goes through the two places that have neither motorway nor rail connections. There are ferries to Moordrecht and Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. There are several timber wholesalers and transport companies here. Agriculture and inland shipping are also important.
