Association on the ridge and summit area in Orjen
Dinaric oromediterranean / alpine limestone turf of the Oxytropidion dinaricae association . In the picture from the summit area of Velika Jastrebica , the Dinaric keel is associated with Edraianthus tenuifolius .

The plant-sociological association Oxytropidion dinaricae forms within the Dinaric calcareous grass order Crepidetalia dinarica, which in turn belongs to the European class of blue grass and naked grass ( Elyno-Seslerietea ), the alpine subtype Dinaric calcareous grasslands. It is found on wind corners and in the ridge and summit area of the Southeast Dinarides in Bosnia and Herzegovina , Montenegro and Albania .

distribution

Especially in the high southeast Dinarides between the Neretva and Valbone. The individual associations of the association settle on mostly less profound rendzines or on deeply developed calcareous melanosols of glacial troughs. Mountain groups with beautiful examples of the association are the Maglić , Volujak, Durmitor , Komovi , Prokletije . In the sub-Adriatic mountains only in Orjen .

ecology

The association planted the height zone between the Krummholzstufe ( Pinus mugo ) and the subnival snow- soil communities with Salix retusa ( Salicetalia retusae serpyllifoliae ). The geological substrate is provided by the strongly folded Triassic limestone of the Durmitor Nappe of the outer High Dinarides as well as Cretaceous and Jurassic limestone of the outer subadriatic littoral Dinarides, on which Kalkrohumus soils and calcium omelanosols develop. The name Buavica is used as the local name of the Dinaric high mountain soils of the lime omelanosols , for which lime grasses of the order Crepidetalia dinarica are also the most common type of vegetation.

The soils are on average 5 - 25 cm deep in the association, the humus content is between 10 and 30%, a percentage that is otherwise still found in raised bog in size. The nitrogen content is proportional to the percentage of the humus content. PH values are neutral to slightly acidic and also acidic in deeper soils. Potassium and phosphorus are scarce, the soils have large pores and do not hold much moisture.

Character types

Characteristic species of this vegetation type are in addition to the eponymous type of Dinaric Spitzkiel ( Oxytropis Dinarica ) and numerous grass species of the genera Carex , Sesleria and Poa particular numerous endemic taxa: Stone Elke ( Dianthus sylvestris subsp. Tergestinus ,) Thymus Albanus , Viola zoysii , Iris reichenbachii , Edraianthus tenuifolius , Iberis sempervirens , Thymus stellatus , Scaly Marguerite ( Leucanthemum chloroticum ) and Sesleria robusta u. a. Also Festuca panciciana , Sesleria tenuifolia , Carex kitaibelliana , Allysum montanum , Crepis dinarica , Gentiana verna , Dryas octopetala , Helianthemum nitidum , Helianthemum balcanicum , Agrostis alpina , Edraianthus serpyllifolius , Edraianthus montenegrinus .
