Pablo Puente Buces (born June 16, 1931 in Colindres ) is a former diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Pablo Puente Buces was ordained a priest on April 2, 1956 . Pope John Paul II appointed him on March 18, 1980 Titular Archbishop of Macri and Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Indonesia . The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, Agnelo Cardinal Rossi , ordained him episcopal on May 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Juan Antonio del Val Gallo , Bishop of Santander , and Gabino Díaz Merchán , Archbishop of Oviedo .

On March 15, 1986 he was appointed Apostolic Pro-Nuncio to Cape Verde and Senegal and Apostolic Delegate in Guinea-Bissau and Mauritania , additionally on May 12, 1986 as Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Mali , and on May 29, 1987 raised to the position of Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Guinea-Bissau. On July 31, 1989 he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Lebanon and on May 25, 1993 as Apostolic Nuncio in Kuwait . On July 31, 1997, he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to the United Kingdom . He resigned from his office on October 23, 2004.
