Pailin ( ប៉ៃលិន , transcription: Pailĭn , IPA : [ pai̯lin ]) is a province of Cambodia with the provincial capital of the same name . The province is located in the west of the country on the northern edge of the Cambodian Cardamom Mountains and borders the Battambang Province and Thailand . The province was detached from Battambang Province as a province-level municipality in 1996 and made a province by a royal decree in 2008.

The Pailin Province is divided into two districts, eight parishes and 82 villages:
