Pale di San Lucano
The Pale di San Lucano are a collection of peaks that form a small, somewhat unknown Dolomite group between Taibon Agordino and Cencenighe Agordino in the Italian province of Belluno . The highest peak is Monte San Lucano at 2406 m .
Surroundings
The mountain group lies north of the more famous Pala and is separated from it by the Valle di San Lucano . In the east it drops to the Valle Agordina , which separates the Pale di San Lucano from the Civetta group , another better-known neighbor. In this valley are the places Taibon Agordino and Cencenighe Agordino, from which the peaks of the mountain group can be easily climbed. A little south of Cencenighe Agordino, the Valle del Torcòl , a small side valley of the Valle Agordino, flows into it. The Valle del Torcòl lies between the Pale di San Lucano and the Cima-Pape massif and thus separates the two mountain groups. The Forcella Gardes , which connects the Pale di San Lucano and the Cima Pape, lies between the Valle del Torcòl and the Valle di San Lucano mentioned at the beginning .
Development
The Pale di San Lucano are a mountain group that is relatively little developed for tourism; only the marked path no. 765 (Sentiero della Besausega), which is a steep, exposed path, and a few unmarked paths lead through the area. Some peaks, such as the Prima Pala, can be easily reached over this and in some cases over uneven, but easy terrain . The remaining peaks can be climbed via various climbing routes with different levels of climbing difficulty .
Only the Bivacco Bedin bivouac box at the Prima Pala is suitable as accommodation .
