The Palfinger AG is an Austrian listed manufacturer of hydraulic lifting and loading devices and especially known for the truck-mounted cranes with articulated arm. With this product, the company is the world market leader with almost 150 models and a market share of 35 percent. The company was founded in 1932 in Schärding in Upper Austria and is now headquartered in Bergheim near Salzburg. The Palfinger Group comprises 84 companies in 32 countries, with 33 production and assembly plants and around 5,000 sales and service outlets in over 130 countries on all continents.

history

The company's origins lie in a repair and locksmith's workshop founded by Richard Palfinger in 1932. By specializing in hydraulic loading cranes, his son Hubert Palfinger (1942–2020) laid the foundation stone for today's company in 1964 . In 1989 the export quota rose for the first time over 90 percent with a presence in over 70 countries. The company went public in June 1999. Over the past 20 years there has been an increasing focus on diversification and internationalization. Andreas Klauser has been CEO of Palfinger AG since June 2018.

Shareholders

The Palfinger Group is 56.6 percent owned by the Palfinger family, 7.5% belong to the Chinese Sany Group - as part of a capital integration - and 35.9 percent are in free float. Palfinger has been listed on the Official Market of the Vienna Stock Exchange since June 1999 .
