Pam Ryan

Pam Ryan (actually Pamela Ryan, née Kilborn; born August 12, 1939 in Melbourne ) is a former Australian athlete .

Kilborn won the gold medal in the 80-meter hurdles at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth in 1962 in front of the Englishwoman Betty Moore (silver) and the New Zealander Avis McIntosh (bronze) as well as the gold medal in the long jump in front of the two Australians Helen Frith (silver) and Janet Knee (bronze). At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston in 1966 , she won the gold medal in the 80-meter hurdles discipline in front of the Jamaican Carmen Smith (silver) and the Canadian Jenny Wingerson (bronze), as well as the gold medal in the 4 x 100 meters -Season . Also in 1970 she won the gold medal, now in the 100-meter hurdles ahead of the Australian Maureen Caird (silver) and the English Christine Bell (bronze) as well as the gold medal in the 4-by-100-meter relay.

In 1967 it broke the world record set by Christine Bell (then Perera) of 13.7 s and improved it twice in 1969 to 13.3 s.

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, she won the bronze medal behind Karin Balzer from the GDR and the Polish Teresa Ciepły (silver). At the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968 , she won the silver medal in the 80-meter hurdles last held as an Olympic discipline, behind the Australian Maureen Caird and ahead of the Taiwanese Chi Cheng . At the 1972 Olympic Games , she was fourth over 100 m hurdles.
