The Panagia Krimniotissa was a ferry of the Greek shipping company Saos Ferries , which was put into service in 1973 as Tsukushi ( Japanese つ く し ). The ship remained in service until December 2008 and was scrapped in Turkey in 2011 after almost three years of berth .

history

The Tsukushi was built under the hull number 173 at Kanda Zōsenjo in Kure and was put into service in 1973 for Nishi Nihon Ferry with its home port of Kobe . In 1975 it went as Dai-16 Hankyū ( 第十六 阪 九 , English Hankyu No 16 ) to Hankyū Ferry, before it was sold to South Korea in 1984 as Ferry Pukwan and was henceforth put into service on the route from Shimonoseki to Busan .

In November 1998 the ship was taken over by Express Sea Trailer and renamed Star Trailer . From 1999, the new area of ​​operation was the route from Corinth to Venice . In November 1999 Minoan Flying Dolphins took over the Star Trailer under the changed name Startrailer .

In September 2003 the ship went to Saos Ferries as Panagia Krimniotissa and was henceforth used on the route from Piraeus via Chios to Mytilini . After the Panagia Krimniotissa long from October 2006 over a year rested it was used in March 2008 under the charter of J. Van Nuyssenborgh BV briefly again, but due to financial difficulties of the shipping company on 2 December 2008 again in Eleusis launched.

After Saos Ferries was dissolved and no new buyer was found for the ship, the Panagia Krimniotissa was sold to Aliağa , Turkey , for scrapping in October 2011 after almost three years of berth , where she arrived on October 17th.
