Panduro is a town in the La Paz department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Panduro is the fifth largest municipality in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Sica Sica in the province of Aroma . The wide plain of the Bolivian highlands extends northwest of Panduro, and to the east of the place rises the Serranía de Sicasica , a north-south oriented mountain range between La Paz and Cochabamba , which rises to 4500 m.

Panduro is located at an altitude of 3907  m on the Bolivian Altiplano between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east. The region has a typical time of day climate in which the daily temperature fluctuation is more pronounced than the mean temperature fluctuation between the seasons.

Nocturnal frost temperatures are possible in almost every season. Transport network

Panduro is located at a distance of 161 kilometers by road southeast of La Paz , the capital of the department of the same name.

From La Paz, the asphalt road Ruta 2 leads west to El Alto , from there Ruta 1 a further 148 kilometers south via Patacamaya and Sica Sica to Panduro . From there the road continues in a south-easterly direction to the departmental capitals Oruro , Potosí and Tarija and to Bermejo on the Argentine border.
