Pang Yao ( Chinese  逄 瑤  /  逄 瑶 , Pinyin Páng Yáo , Jyutping Pong 4 Jiu 4 , born May 27, 1995 ) is a Chinese cyclist from Hong Kong who competes in races on track and road .

Athletic career

Pang Yao is an all-rounder who is equally successful on the train and on the road. In 2012 she became the junior Asian champion in the individual time trial , in 2013 she was twice the Asian junior champion in both individual time trials and road races. In 2014 she won the silver medal of the Asian Championship in the single pursuit on the track.

In 2016 Pang started the second round of the Track Cycling World Cup 2016/17 in Apeldoorn and finished seventh in the points race . On the road, she won bronze in the 2016 Asian Championships in the individual time trial and in 2019 in the team time trial . At the 2017 Asian Track Championships , she won silver with Yang Qianyu , Leung Bo Yee and Diao Xiaojuan in the team pursuit and at the Asian Games with Yang Qianyu in the two-man team . She finished third in the scratch at the 2019 continental track championships . In 2020 she won the continental title in two-man team driving with Yang Qianyu.
