The Panzer Division (PD) Feldherrnhalle 1 was the successor unit of the Panzergrenadier Division Feldherrnhalle and was renamed on April 20, 1945. It consisted of survivors from the PGD Feldherrnhalle, which was destroyed in July 1944 during Operation Bagration near Minsk . It was deployed at the front as a tank division in January 1945. During the fighting for Budapest it was almost completely destroyed in January 1945, so that it had to be reorganized in February 1945. In May 1945 she capitulated to the Red Army near Deutsch-Brod .
