Division history

Areas of application

The Panzer Division (PD) Feldherrnhalle 2 was set up in Military District XX (Danzig) as the successor division of the 13th Panzer Division and the broken Panzergrenadier Division "Feldherrnhalle" . The name was changed to PD Feldherrnhalle 2 in March 1945. When it was set up, it hardly reached any regimental strength . In the last months of the war, the division fought in retreat skirmishes in Slovakia and on the upper Danube . On May 8, 1945, the remnants of the division surrendered to the Red Army .

insignia

The designation " Feldherrnhalle " should express the connection with the SA standard "Feldherrnhalle" . The Feldherrnhalle runes were carried on the shoulder by officers of the division.
