Paolo Bizzeti

Paolo Bizzeti SJ (born September 22, 1947 in Florence , Italy ) is an Italian religious and apostolic vicar of Anatolia .

Life

Paolo Bizzeti occurred on 22 November 1966, the religious order of the Jesuits in and received on 21 June 1975 in Bologna, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He received his doctorate with a humanities thesis on wisdom. On June 12, 1982, Bizzeti made perpetual profession . In 1993 he was the founder of AMO (Amici del Medio Oriente), which deals with religious issues in the Middle East. He was the first rector of the Villa San Giuseppe , one of the Center for Spirituality in Bologna.

He was rector of the Patavina Residentia Antonianum , a Jesuit study center for aspiring clergy, and is director of the Centro Giovanile Antonianum , the center for the formation of the laity in Padua.

On 14 August 2015 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Tabae and ordered him Vicar Apostolic of Anatolia. He was ordained bishop by the secretary of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches , Archbishop Cyril Vasiľ SJ, on November 1st of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Ravenna-Cervia , Lorenzo Ghizzoni , and the Bishop of Padua , Claudio Cipolla . The inauguration took place four weeks later.

On July 8, 2019, the Pope appointed him a member of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life for five years .

Bizzeti has published several papers on youth issues and biblical spirituality.
