Sculpture Paolo della Stella

Paolo della Stella (* around 1500 in Melano ; † October 1552 in Prague ) was an Italian sculptor, builder and architect of the Renaissance in Bohemia . He comes from Ticino and was probably trained by working at the churches in Lugano or Como . From 1538 he worked at the royal court in Prague, first as the head of a group of Italian sculptors and later as a builder at the Prague Castle and in the royal palaces in Bohemia . A sculpture of Paolo della Stella by Mořic Černil (1859–1933) stands in front of the sculpture school in Hořice (Horschitz).
