Park Dong-hyeok (born April 18, 1979 in Yangpyeong , Gyeonggi-do ) is a former South Korean football player and today's coach . He last played as a player for Ulsan Hyundai . He is currently under contract as a coach at Chungnam Asan FC .

Career as a player

education

He completed his training at Korea University , which he attended from 1998 to 2001. He then signed a contract with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors .

Player career

After completing his training, he went to Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. There he was able to celebrate his first successes very quickly. In 2003 and 2005 he won the Korean FA Cup . In 2004 he was also able to win the South Korean Soccer Supercup . By the end of 2005, he ran 74 times for Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and scored five goals. He then played for Ulsan Hyundai . During his time there, he was able to win other titles. He won the A3 Champions Cup with Ulsan Hyundai in 2006 and the K League league cup a year later . For Ulsan Hyundai he ran 68 times until the end of 2008 and scored 6 goals. In 2009 he moved to Japan in the J1 League at Gamba Osaka . At Gamba Osaka he didn't really get to work, which is why he was awarded to Kashiwa Reysol in the J2 League . By the end of the season, he ran 14 times for the club. After the loan ended, he stayed with the Reysols. In 2010 he managed direct promotion and the league championship with the Reysols. In 2011 he was able to celebrate the next success by being the first to win the J1 League with the club and becoming Japanese champions. At the end of 2011 he moved to China in the Chinese Super League at Dalian Shide . For Dalian Shide, he ran 25 times by the end of the season and scored three goals. At the end of the season he left the club and moved back to his old club Ulsan Hyundai. He played 40 times for Ulsan Hyundai until the end of the 2014 season and scored one goal. After the end of the 2014 season, he ended his playing career.

International career

Dong-hyeok was appointed to the U-20 team for the first time in 1998 and ran for the team eight times by 1999. He was then appointed to the U-23 selection , for which he ran 32 times until 2002 and scored five goals. Until the end of 2005 he was also called up for the men's selection, for which he appeared a total of 18 times.

Career as a coach

After retiring, he stayed with Ulsan Hyundai and continued to work as a scout for the club. In 2016 he was promoted to assistant coach. At the end of 2016, he left the club for Asan Mugunghwa FC , where he took the position of assistant coach. After Song Seon-ho was released , he took on the position of coach. With the club he immediately won the K League second division championship. In the Korean FA Cup, he was able to advance into the quarter-finals before they were eliminated from the cup by a 1-0 defeat by Jeonnam Dragons .
