Park Je-un (born March 11, 1993 ) is a South Korean Nordic combined who is also irregularly active as a special jumper .

Career

As a ski jumper, Park made his international debut on August 7th and 8th, 2009 at the FIS Cup in Predazzo . However, with places 81 and 67, he clearly missed the points. Even with other starts in the FIS Cup 2009/10 he did not get beyond rank 62. Park made his international debut as a Nordic combined athlete at the 2010 Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Hinterzarten . He finished 61st in the Gundersen competition (normal hill / 5 km). At the Junior World Championships he also started as a ski jumper in the individual competition on the normal hill, where he was disqualified.

In the 2010/11 season, Park was initially active as a ski jumper. At the FIS-Cup jumping on December 17th, 2011 in Notodden he got his first point as 30th, after he just missed the points on the previous day as 31st. On January 12 and 13, 2011, he made his debut in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup in Pyeongchang . In the summer of 2011 he started again in Courchevel in two COC competitions. In these four COC participations he could not get any points. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2013 in Liberec he only took part as a ski jumper and finished 51st in the individual.

From the 2013/14 season, Park was primarily active internationally as a Nordic combined athlete. On December 18 and 19, 2013, he made his debut in the Nordic Combined Continental Cup in Soldier Hollow , but missed the points.

Although it was not previously used in the World Cup, it was nominated by the Korea Ski Association for the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun . In the two individual competitions, he finished 49th (Gundersen normal hill) and 43rd place (Gundersen large hill). At the Continental Cup in Soldier Hollow on December 11, 2015, he got his first COC points in 24th place. In January 2016, he achieved his first top ten placement in the COC, finishing sixth in Pyeongchang. On February 26, 2016 he made his debut in Val di Fiemme in the Nordic Combined World Cup . He competed in the team sprint with Kim Bong-Joo and they finished the competition in 15th place. Two days later he finished 39th in the Gundersen competition on the large hill. He collected his first World Cup points in the 2016/17 season at the home World Cup in Pyeongchang . After he missed the World Cup points in the Gundersen competition on the large hill with 31st place on February 4, 2017, he scored 30th place in the Gundersen competition on the large hill one day later. For South Korea he took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti and took 51st place on the normal hill and 50th on the large hill at the Gundersen competition.

In February 2018, Park participated in the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in his home country. There he started both as a Nordic combined and as a ski jumper. In the Nordic Combined competitions, he finished 46th in the Gundersen competition on the normal hill and 47th in the Gundersen competition on the large hill . As a ski jumper, he took part in the team competition on the large hill and finished twelfth and last place with the South Korean team, which had a starting place as host.
